Horses
Processed alfalfa products, particularly cubes, are regularly used in horse
diets in North America. When cubes are used as the only feed
source, they are eaten in greater quantities than forage in any other form.
Palatability and nutrient content in Canadian alfalfa products produce good
horse health and performance.

or factsheet.
Beef Cattle
Alfalfa pellets and cubes may form a significant part of rations that meet
the nutrient requirements of beef cattle. Both pellets and cubes are
excellent sources of essential nutrients necessary for cowhealth and
productivity as well as improved growth in beef animals. Processed alfalfa
products will produce rates of gain and feed conversion values comparable
or superior to other protein supplements.

Dairy Cattle
Dehydrated alfalfa pellets have been used in dairy cattle diets in North America since the 1930s.
Product attributes include palatability, uniform quality and high nutrient
availability. Recent research has established dehydrated alfalfa as a
quality source of bypass protein for lactating dairy cows and growing young
stock. Both dehydrated and suncured alfalfa pellets can be used to replace
grain and protein supplements in compound feeds, and can also be used to
supplement low quality forages, or forages in low supply.

or factsheet.
Sheeps & Goats
Processed alfalfa products are used in sheep and goat diets to improve
palatability, increase voluntary feed intake and provide an excellent
source of protein, beta carotene, calcium and selenium. Alfalfa cubes may
be used as the sole roughage source for all classes of sheep.

Swine
Dehydrated alfalfa is an established ingredient for swine feeding in North America.
It is an excellent source of critical nutrients necessary for swine health
and productivity.

or factsheet.
Camels
The use of alfalfa forage in camel diets is preferred in many areas of the
world. This preference is based on alfalfa's high nutrient content, ability
when added to diets to improve forage quality, and to be eaten in larger
amounts than other forages. This adds up to higher nutrient intakes,
increased productivity and health of the animal.
